Establishing Network Connections
Connection Approval Required
Connections between Bloomex computers or networks and third-party systems must receive approval from the IT Security Department. This ensures that the integration complies with Bloomex’s security requirements. Real-time connections between in-house Bloomex systems are also subject to review by Information Security to prevent any compromise of sensitive data.
Personal Computer Connections
Employees are prohibited from connecting personal computers to Bloomex networks or systems without prior authorization from the IT Department. Personally-owned systems must not be used to handle any Bloomex information unless they have been approved for such use by Information Security.
New Installations
Employees and vendors are not allowed to arrange for or complete the installation of voice or data lines with any carrier without obtaining written approval from the Director of the Office of Telecommunications.
Firewalls Required
All connections between Bloomex internal networks and the Internet or any other publicly accessible network must be protected by an approved firewall or related access control system. The privileges allowed through this firewall or access control system must be based on business needs and adhere to an access control standard issued by the IT Security Department. Documentation for these standards is available from the department.
These guidelines are intended to ensure secure and controlled network connections, safeguarding Bloomex’s information and infrastructure from potential threats.
